Busy

Sorry I haven't posted any updates to the Experiencing God study, but things are a bit hectic. I am also doing a Kay Arthur precept study Revelation 3 that is winding down and just started attending a First Place 4 Health Bible study on Wednesday nights at my church. Hopefully, I can get more on this weekend.

More Thoughts on the Senior Trip

I am now looking at Stone Mountain Georgia. Never been there and it looks like fun. Also if you buy a member pass, you get 50% off tickets to Dollywood, Wild Adventures (which we love). So gonna do a bit more research. Have to start saving my change or something. :-)

Unit 1 Day 3 - Learning to be a Servant of God

To be a servant of God, we must be moldable and remain in the hands of the Master. We are to be obedient to God. Being a servant is not finding out what God wants us to do and going off to do it by ourselves. It is not about getting orders and then going out to do them. It is about relating to God, responding to Him and adjusting our lives to Him so that He can work through us as He wants to. A light bulb went off for me on this one. For years, I think my definition of a servant was "God says we are supposed to (fill in the blank)" and then I would go out and try to figure out how to do it all by myself. I have a hard time remaining still, long enough to hear God, to get to know God and develop that relationship with Him. I don't just mean physically still, I mean mentally still. My mind seems to jump constantly from one thing to another as I try to get all done that I am "supposed" to do. Getting to know God more personally and intimately is top priority for me from this moment on. I am ready to be a servant of God. What about you?

United States

The following story was posted onto one of my groups. I do not know the author's name, but I felt it worth sharing.

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by his little girl, Betsy. She wanted to know what the United States looked like. Finally, he tore a sheet out of his new magazine on which was printed the map of the country.

Tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Betsy and said, 'Go into the other room and see if you can put this together. This will show you our whole country today.'

After a few minutes, Betsy return to her Dad and handed him the map, correctly fitted and taped together. The father was surprised and asked how she had finished so quickly. 'Oh,' she said, 'on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus. When I got all of Jesus back where He
belonged, then our country just came together.'
